Lions Club and Dee-Mack Boosters Announce Golf Outing

Grab your clubs and finest Higdon hat for the Mackinaw Lions Club Golf Outing at Quail Meadows Golf Course in Washington, on Saturday, August 13th. $90 per person covers green fees, a golf cart, and lunch at the course starting at 11:30 A.M. prior to tee off. Golfers can form their own team of 4 or sign up individually and be assigned to a team.

Supported by the Dee-Mack Boosters Club, proceeds from the event help both clubs. The Chief Nation supporter money goes to the Booster Club who “help provide funding to supplement the budget of Dee-Mack High School, both academically and extracurricularly.” Thanks to donations to the Boosters, funds have been applied towards Classroom supplies, Field trips, and senior signs; mobile wi-fi services for students without internet access, novels for English classes, along with spending money for free/reduced students for concession on Field Trips. Plus much much more. The next initiative is a fully automated timing system which will allow the school to host large track events for both Junior High and high school athletes.

If you’d like to make a monetary donation to the Boosters, any donation over $50 will be recognized in the Fall and Winter Sports Program as a “Chief Nation Supporter”. Donations must be in by August 10th to be included in the Fall Sports Program. If you are more of a “hands on” type of person, volunteers are always needed. Whether it’s lending your time to help with  the Meet the Chiefs event in August or working the HOI Volleyball Tournament concession stand in October, your time and effort goes to a great cause. Anyone interested can email boosters@deemack.org

If golfing isn’t your style, you can still have a presence on the fairway by becoming a “Hole Sponsor” for $100 per hole. Anyone interested in signing up to golf or becoming a sponsor can contact Chad Hovey at 309.360.9170 or Tammy Stimson at 309.208.4374.
